The new Velutina Trap Pro is a live trap for catching the Asian hornet, Vespa Velutina. Other insects can escape or be released from this trap. The European hornet is too big for this trap and therefore cannot be caught.
The trap consists of:
• An extra-large plastic collection container (5 liters volume) that allows plenty of free space for captured hornets, incl. Inlet hopper and bait container with float.
• To ensure that the collection container does not heat up under sunlight, it is protected by a wood panel.
• Aluminium weather protection with suspension
As an attractant, we recommend a mixture of 1/3 beer, fruit juice and sweet wine.

Please do not use sugar water as an attractant, as this will lure bees into the trap!
